Hmm what to say. It's so hard to tell you all the things that I'm grateful for, because when put into words sometimes things get smaller when that's not at all what I want for them to do, not what I mean for them to manifest as. I worry that things like your writing is synesthetic does it an injustice by narrowing it to one adjective, and one that I've made up on top of that though I know you'll get my meaning. I mean, I do mean it - that your prose interchanges senses like fingers interlacing, natural and keen and particular.

But I mean also that they provide for something outside of themselves, and this would be the place where I get even more selfish and say that they give me the desire and wherewithal to at least try to write better - to do it cleaner where I've been sloppy and to, when it is called for, be sloppy in new ways instead of the ways I'm used to. It's a real gift, when writing makes me feel but it's even more of one when it channels into the craft as well, like it's become a part of me even though it is entirely wrought by you and that's exactly what I love most about all the stories I keep close to me, all the writing I carry around behind my eyes and on the tip of my tongue.

I'm really privileged and flat out lucky to get to write with you in all your detail and sense for nuance.

But more than that even, I'm those things and still others for having gotten to know you better, and continuing to acquaint. You're unbelievably kind and smart and hilarious. I wish I could say it all much better than this but I guess I'll stop talking your ear off and say thank you - from the selfish creative part of me and the selfish Seeking Wavelength part of me.
