There are a multitude of ways to do this but they all differ depending on what layout you employ to begin with.mintyapple, is a great community with free layouts made by amazing designers and most of them come with options for headers [that would be, a banner that is the image at the top of your journal, y/y? xd] sooooo I do suggest checking them out until you scroll through and find a layout that suits you. If it has a header option, you should be able to adjust the pixel options so as to fit any banner you wish to use as the header image.

Again friending/watching the community is a nice way to make my day 8D [but that's selfish to say right? xd;;;;]
